Have been in love with your music since around 2010 I wanna say, A Collection of Creatures remains my most beloved album of all time, and knowing that I contributed to it and seeing my name in the album credits still makes my heart melt, and hearing the opening still gives me chills just like the very first time. There’s truly no other band like JH, you are truly only one of a kind in a genre of your own

Dude, in that intro I definitely hear a nod to "Alchemy"/"The Facts in the Case of Mister Hollow", and one that almost sounds like the same kind of chord, if not the same exact notes, as NIN's original version of "Hurt". I haven't even listened to the whole song yet (or any of the band's other stuff, but TFitCoMH and its eerie use of "Alchemy" have drawn me in), and I hear this kind of musical nod/homage in the first 20 seconds.

Yeah these are not the same without the vocal performance and the intensity
